Be the firm the AI answer names.

Ask ChatGPT or Google AI for a lawyer in Irvine and the answer names a few firms and stops. What decides which firms, what the scan checks, and what I fix.

A question your buyers ask

  1. [01]

Are the answer crawlers allowed in?

Law-firm sites on WordPress often run a security plugin whose bot rules block OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot along with the scrapers. The firm never notices, because Google's ordinary crawler is still allowed. NeshatScan reads robots.txt and the response headers and shows the exact line.

  2. [02]

Does each practice-area page answer the question in its first sixty words?

Engines quote the passage that answers the question. A page that opens with the firm's history and reaches “we handle partnership disputes in Orange County” in paragraph six loses to one that opens with it.

  3. [03]

Does the structured data describe a law firm and its attorneys?

A LegalService node with the practice areas, the office address and hours, and a Person node per attorney with the bar profile in sameAs give the engine facts it can trust without inferring them. Most firm sites ship the theme's default Organization node, or nothing.

  4. [04]

Is the firm one entity across the web?

A firm name written three ways (with and without LLP, an older name on the bar profile, a domain that still spells out the founding partners) reads as three firms. Consistency across the site, the State Bar record, directories and Google's business listing is what lets an engine connect the mentions.

  5. [05]

Are the FAQ answers visible text?

Accordion answers loaded by JavaScript, or FAQ markup whose questions never appear on the page, are invisible at best and penalised at worst. NeshatScan checks that what the markup says is what the page shows.

[01]How do I check whether ChatGPT names my law firm?

Run the technical site scan and separately record an answer to a specific buyer question. The scan identifies observable technical barriers; a mention or citation must be checked in the answer itself, alongside the question and date. One question does not represent every buyer, language or location.

[02]Why does a firm that wins in court not show up in AI answers?

Because the engine never read the site, or read it and could not tell what the firm does and where. Reputation in the legal community is not a signal an engine can see; a plain practice-area page, a correct robots.txt and a consistent name are. The scan shows which of the three is missing.

[03]Does this conflict with State Bar advertising rules?

No. The work is technical and factual: making pages readable, stating practice areas and locations plainly, and keeping the firm's name consistent. Nothing here involves claims about results or comparisons with other lawyers, and any copy I propose goes through your review before it is published.

[04]We already pay for SEO. Is this different?

It overlaps at the foundation and diverges at the top. Ordinary SEO aims at the list of links; this aims at being named inside the written answer, which weighs whether the answer crawlers are allowed in, how clearly each page states facts, and how consistent the firm looks across the web. The scan tells you in minutes whether your current setup blocks the answer crawlers.

[05]How long before anything changes?

Access fixes take effect on the next crawl, usually within days. Being named for a question you were absent from takes longer, because the engines re-crawl and re-weigh on their own schedule. That is why I measure with dated captures rather than promises.

[06]Can we start with one practice area?

Yes. Most firms start with the practice area that brings the best clients, fix the site-wide access issues once, and expand page by page.
